Next Episode (breeding)
2020, Bay
Country Life purchased a mare named Rue de Rivoli (by Smart Strike) in 2019 to breed to Mosler, and this filly was the result of that mating. We sold Next Episode as a yearling and watched her very successful racing career unfold. She earned $301,163 in her 37-race career that included wins at ages 2, 3, 4 and 5 plus a stakes-placing in the $125,000 MD Million Ladies Stakes.
We purchased her out of the Fasig-Tipton January Digital Sale for $11,000. Shares sold quickly ($1,100 for a 10% interest). A maiden mare right off the racetrack, partners voted for her to be bred to Corniche in 2026 and she is in foal to him on a February cover.
From a deep female family developed by Helen Alexander, this filly’s pedigree includes loads of Graded blacktype horses. Her 2nd dam is the multiple graded-stakes winning Deputy Minister mare ATELIER, and the third dam AISHAH (by Alydar) was a G2-winner and sister to Champion 2-year-old filly ALTHEA. All the fillies in this pedigree seem to produce stakes horses, whether they themselves earned blacktype or not. Next Episode has every chance to follow that pattern, as she’s a nicely built, sound filly.
